Spontaneous Closure of Lamellar Macular Hole with Epiretinal Proliferation Ophthalmology, novembre 2019
Nathan E. Cutler, MD, Rishi P. Singh, MDCole Eye Institute, Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, OhioOphthalmology, novembre 2019
A 71-year-old man initially presented with 20/20 vision, and on examination had a posterior vitreous detachment with lamellar hole and associated epiretinal proliferation in the right eye (A). The patient was observed, and 2 years later the epiretinal proliferation had extended temporally and also bridged across to the foveal center (B). Six years after presentation, vision had decrease slightly to 20/30, but OCT showed filling of the lamellar hole with further spread of the epiretinal proliferation (C). This case uniquely demonstrates the resolution of a lamellar macular hole by extension of epiretinal proliferation.
